Following their famous hit, "Otana Blue," ATARASHII GAKKO! has unleashed another chart-topper with a clever twist in its title: "Tokyo Calling" (bearing a resemblance to "Tokyo Korin," a.k.a "Tokyo Descend").

ATARASHII GAKKO!'s trademark dynamic dance moves and deadpan expressions are once again in the spotlight for Tokyo Calling music video. The director, Pennacky is a renowned Japanese music video director who just won the Taiwanese Golden Melody Award for the Best Music Video of 2023. This is their second collaboration after the NAINAINAI music video back in 2021, this time igniting even more spark than before!

The music video draws inspiration from the Japanese Tokusatsu films of the 1950’s and 1960’s, such as the Godzilla and Ultraman series. Pennacky has always been an avid fan of those films and many of his past works also contained elements inspired by the aforementioned films.

This MV thrusts those elements to the spotlight, depicting all four members of ATARASHII GAKKO! transforming into giants (a.k.a kaijus) and descending upon the Tokyo Metropolitan area; inspiring folks to escape from their boring and dreary lives. In a seamless blend between lyrics and visuals, "Tokyo Calling" resonates as a powerful anthem, echoing the call to "seize the moment and chase your dreams bravely."

The infectious positivity radiating from ATARASHII GAKKO! transcends Tokyo, embracing the world with open arms. Get ready to be swept away as the Japanese sensation continues to share their exuberant energy with audiences worldwide!
